None of the others listed were born yet. The scandal was about the 1919 World Series, pitting the Chicago White Sox against the Cincinnati Reds, in a betting/throwing the World Series ordeal. It was unfortunate, and also due to Jackson being one of the greatest hitters in the history of baseball. In 13 seasons prior to his banishment from baseball, he led a major category for batting 8 seasons in his career, and 'retired' with a .356 average.
